Location: Rio Rancho, NM

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per Diem (days as scheduled), 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM (Day shift)

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $17 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents and assist with activities of daily living
Take and record vital signs, reporting changes to the nursing team promptly
Assist with mobility, transfers, and safe patient handling to promote dignity
Document care accurately and clearly in the resident chart or EMR
Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and support staff to deliver coordinated care
Support a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices

Qualifications

Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (required)
Active CNA licensure or certification eligible for New Mexico
Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
Strong communication skills and a patient-centered attitude
Prior experience in long-term care or similar settings is a plus — new CNAs are welcome

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred
Current CNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of patient safety and infection prevention best practices
Ability to perform ADLs, transfers, and basic clinical tasks with care and attentiveness
Accurate vital signs measurement and reporting
Comfortable documenting care in electronic or paper charts
Teamwork mindset with strong interpersonal skills
