Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to patients, supporting activities of daily living with dignity
• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility to keep patients comfortable and safe
• Take and accurately record vital signs and report changes to the nursing team
• Document care clearly and promptly in patient records to support continuity
• Work collaboratively with nurses, therapists, and interdisciplinary staff to deliver excellent care
• Maintain infection control practices and a clean, safe environment for patients
• Support safe patient transfers and positioning, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification — New Mexico certification preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification required or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass required background checks, TB screening, and immunization requirements
• Reliable, compassionate, and able to communicate effectively with patients and team members
• Previous CNA experience preferred but enthusiastic newcomers with training are welcome

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an approved CNA training program and current CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Fundamentals of patient care and activities of daily living
• Taking and recording vital signs accurately
• Basic charting and familiarity with electronic health records or willingness to learn
• Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork
• Infection control principles and safe patient handling
