Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Monitor and document resident vital signs, intake/output, and condition changes accurately and promptly
• Assist with safe transfers and mobility to promote resident independence and prevent falls
• Support meal service and assist with feeding when needed, respecting individual preferences and dietary needs
• Communicate observations and care concerns clearly with nurses and the interdisciplinary care team
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and adhere to infection control and safety protocols
• Build trusting relationships with residents and families, treating everyone with dignity and respect

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in New Mexico
• Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Comfortable with physical aspects of the role including lifting and assisting residents
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
• Previous CNA experience in long-term care or related setting is a plus but not required

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic nursing care and infection control practices
• Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
• Familiarity with resident rights, dignity, and confidentiality
• Basic charting and documentation skills
• Good observational skills and the ability to report changes in condition
• Strong interpersonal skills for resident-centered care
