Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care and assistance with activities of daily living
• Support safe patient transfers and mobility while following facility protocols
• Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes to nursing staff promptly
• Assist with bathing, dressing, feeding, and toileting while preserving patient dignity
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and communicate clearly with the care team
• Follow infection control practices and maintain a clean, safe patient environment
• Collaborate with nurses and other team members to deliver coordinated care

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification valid in New Mexico
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) preferred or obtained upon hire if required
• Ability to work overnight shifts and a per-diem schedule
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
• Comfortable performing physical tasks such as lifting and patient transfers
• Pass required background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in patient hygiene, ADLs, and safe transfer techniques
• Knowledge of vital sign measurement and documentation practices
• Familiarity with infection prevention and basic wound care principles
• Ability to follow care plans and report clinical changes accurately
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to comfort patients and families
• Basic charting and electronic documentation familiarity is a plus
