Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding)
• Monitor and report changes in patient condition, including vital signs and behavioral shifts
• Support safe transfers and mobility assistance to reduce fall risk
• Document care accurately and timely in the facility charting system
• Communicate clearly with nurses and interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection prevention protocols
• Respond calmly and effectively in urgent situations and call for appropriate support

Qualifications

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential in New Mexico
• Current CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings
• Comfort with overnight shift responsibilities and working independently
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
• Physical ability to perform patient transfers and standing shifts

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an approved CNA program and current CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on experience with ADLs and basic patient care
• Knowledge of infection control and standard precautions
• Basic vital signs measurement and documentation skills
• Familiarity with resident rights, dignity, and person-centered care
• Good observation and reporting skills for clinical changes
• Ability to work collaboratively with nursing staff and other caregivers
