Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents and patients
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and feeding
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes promptly
• Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics
• Maintain clean, comfortable rooms and assist with basic housekeeping needs
• Communicate clearly with nurses and care team about patient status
• Document care thoroughly and on time to ensure continuity
• Build rapport with patients and families to promote dignity and trust

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (Certified Nursing Assistant) — required
• Active, unencumbered certification or eligibility to work in New Mexico
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Reliable, professional attitude with strong teamwork skills
• Ability to pass facility-required background checks and health screenings
• Previous long-term care or acute care experience is a plus but not always required

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completed state-approved CNA training program and certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Practical knowledge of basic patient care and ADLs
• Comfort taking and recording vital signs and observations
• Understanding of infection control and standard precautions
• Clear communication skills with patients, families, and clinical staff
• Ability to follow care plans and direction from licensed nurses
• Good time management and the ability to prioritize tasks
• Basic charting or electronic documentation familiarity
