Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living
• Assist residents with mobility, transfers, bathing, dressing, and toileting
• Take and record vital signs and report any changes to the nursing team
• Document care accurately and timely in resident charts or electronic systems
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary staff to support resident-centered care
• Maintain a safe, clean, and respectful environment for residents
• Support mealtime assistance, including feeding and meal setup when needed

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification in New Mexico (required)
• Completion of a state-approved CNA training program
• Current CPR/BLS certification (preferred or required per facility)
• Ability to pass background check and any required health screenings
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
• Prior experience in long-term care or similar settings is a plus but not required

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Successful completion of a state-approved CNA program

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of ADLs and safe resident handling techniques
• Ability to take and accurately document vital signs
• Infection control practices and adherence to facility protocols
• Basic charting and documentation skills, including electronic record systems
• Compassionate bedside manner and strong observational skills
• Time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
