Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to patients, assisting with activities of daily living like bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Monitor and record vital signs and report changes to the nursing team promptly
• Support patient safety by following facility protocols and infection control practices
• Assist nursing staff with patient transfers, positioning, and safe ambulation
• Document care accurately and communicate clearly with nurses and care team members
• Deliver respectful, dignity-preserving care while building rapport with patients and families

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification — state-specific credential required
• Active state nursing aide registry in New Mexico or eligible for reciprocity
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Reliable, compassionate, and able to work overnight shifts
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team-focused environment

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred; completion of an approved CNA training program required

Knowledge & Skills

• Familiarity with patient handling and safe transfer techniques
• Knowledge of basic infection control and standard precautions
• Comfortable taking and documenting vital signs accurately
• Ability to follow care plans and report observations to nurses
• Good time management and the ability to prioritize patient needs
