Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents and patients as a Certified Nursing Assistant
• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting) while preserving dignity
• Perform routine vital signs and report any changes in condition promptly
• Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care and observations
• Collaborate with the nursing team to implement individualized care plans
• Follow infection control practices and facility policies to keep patients safe

Qualifications

• Current, active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (required)
• Valid state registry listing or licensure for New Mexico (or ability to obtain)
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Comfortable working a night shift schedule and standing for extended periods
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner
• Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completed state-approved CNA training program and certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in basic patient care and ADLs
• Knowledge of infection prevention and safety protocols
• Skilled at taking and recording vital signs accurately
• Able to follow care plans and report changes to nursing staff
• Good time management and teamwork skills in a fast-paced setting
• Basic charting and documentation skills
