Roles & Responsibilities

Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
Provide compassionate, hands-on care to promote comfort and dignity
Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes to the nursing team
Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics
Maintain clear and timely documentation of resident care and observations
Follow infection control practices and facility policies to keep residents safe
Communicate effectively with nurses, residents, and families to coordinate care

Qualifications

Current CNA certification (required)
Valid state CNA license or eligible for licensure in Maine
Ability to pass background check and required health screenings
CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
Reliable, local to Orono area (LOCAL ONLY) and able to work the specified day shift
Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to resident care

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification

Knowledge & Skills

Skilled in basic patient care and activities of daily living
Comfortable taking and recording vital signs and observation notes
Knowledge of infection control and safety procedures
Good documentation and time management skills
Team-oriented with strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to follow care plans and work under the direction of licensed nursing staff
