Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate daily care to residents, helping with bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility
• Assist with meals and feeding when needed and ensure residents are comfortable during meal times
• Take and accurately record vital signs and report any changes to nursing staff
• Document care delivered in a clear, timely manner to support continuity of care
• Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for residents
• Work closely with the interdisciplinary team to support individualized care plans
• Support residents’ emotional and social needs through respectful, person-centered interactions

Qualifications

• Current CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) certification — NC certification preferred or eligibility to obtain
• CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to pass required background checks and drug screening
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Previous experience in long-term care or similar settings is a plus but not always required

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• CNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Basic nursing and personal care skills (ADLs, transfers, ambulation)
• Accurate vital signs measurement and documentation
• Infection control and safety procedures
• Safe patient handling and body mechanics
• Compassionate, patient-centered communication
• Time management and ability to prioritize tasks during busy shifts
