Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, helping with activities of daily living
• Assist with bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting and mobility while preserving dignity
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes promptly
• Document resident observations and care provided in the chart/EHR
• Support safe transfers and ambulation, using proper body mechanics
• Follow infection prevention and safety protocols to protect residents and staff
• Communicate clearly with nurses, families and interdisciplinary team members
• Promote a comforting environment that supports resident independence and well-being

Qualifications

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential (state-specific licensure as required)
• Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Completion of an accredited CNA training program
• Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar setting preferred
• Comfortable with basic patient care tasks, documentation, and teamwork
• Strong references or demonstrated reliability in clinical settings

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of an accredited CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with residents and families
• Solid knowledge of basic vital signs and patient observation
• Proficiency with bedside care and mobility assistance
• Familiarity with infection control and safety practices
• Basic charting and documentation skills (paper or electronic)
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time during a busy shift
• Compassion, patience, and a resident-first attitude
