Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality cardiac catheterization and peri-procedural nursing care for adult patients
• Continuously monitor patients during procedures and intervene promptly to maintain safety
• Prepare and maintain sterile field and cath lab instrumentation for procedures
• Respond professionally and rapidly to on-call activations and urgent transfers
• Collaborate closely with physicians, techs, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care
• Perform thorough documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient status
• Participate in unit competency testing and maintain required certifications

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California (or compact privilege as applicable)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• NIHSS and DCI/BVP certification as required by the unit
• Minimum cath lab/procedural nursing experience and comfort with peri-procedural monitoring
• Willingness and ability to fulfill on-call requirements (10 days/month, incl. weekends)
• Traveler experience preferred and ability to complete Prime skills checklists and exams
• Ability to pass required health screenings, drug test, immunizations, and licensure verification

Knowledge & Skills

• Cardiac catheterization nursing and procedural/peri-procedural care
• Patient monitoring and advanced rhythm/ECG interpretation
• Familiarity with cath lab equipment, sterile technique, and procedural workflows
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and rapid decision-making skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork in high-acuity settings
• Comfort with on-call responsibilities and managing emergent situations
