Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care to patients across the lifespan using evidence-based practices
• Perform respiratory assessments and develop treatment plans in collaboration with the care team
• Manage ventilators, oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, and airway support with precision
• Respond to respiratory emergencies and support resuscitation efforts as a certified team member
• Document patient progress, interventions, and outcomes clearly and promptly
• Participate in specialty competency testing and skills validation to maintain clinical excellence
• Communicate effectively with nurses, physicians, and families to deliver coordinated care

Qualifications

• Current state Respiratory Therapist license (license/certificate verification required)
• BLS (required)
• ACLS (required)
• PALS (required)
• NRP (required)
• Completion of required pre-employment health screenings (drug screen, fit test, immunizations)
• Ability to complete Trinity-specific competency testing and skills checklists

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program (Associate's or Bachelor's) — state licensure required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong assessment skills for pulmonary and cardiopulmonary conditions
• Proficiency with mechanical ventilation and non-invasive ventilation strategies
• Comfort with airway management, suctioning, and oxygen delivery systems
• Effective communication and interdisciplinary collaboration
• Able to prioritize in fast-paced, acute-care settings and respond to emergencies
• Familiarity with documentation standards and competency-based assessments
