Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to adult and geriatric patients across Med-Surg, Telemetry, Cardiac, Ortho, Neuro and Oncology units
• Manage telemetry monitoring and interpret cardiac rhythms as required for patient safety
• Perform IV insertion, PICC and central line care, and other vascular device management with confidence
• Administer and manage PCA and epidural pumps, feeding tubes, wound VACs and other specialty equipment
• Float between units as needed, quickly adapting to different team workflows and patient populations
• Maintain accurate documentation, communicate changes in patient condition, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
• Follow infection control, safety protocols and unit-specific policies while supporting throughput and patient flow

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license with the ability to practice in Missouri
• Current CEU documentation required during compliance (per employer policy)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; advanced certifications such as ACLS or specialty certifications are a plus
• Demonstrated experience in Med-Surg and Telemetry preferred; float pool or multi-unit experience highly desirable
• Comfort with night shift work and the ability to manage varied patient ratios (typical 1:6, may rise to 1:8)

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong Med-Surg clinical skills including telemetry monitoring and cardiac care
• Proficiency with IV pumps, PCA/epidural pumps, wound VACs and feeding tube management
• Experience with PICC/central line care and vascular access procedures
• Ability to safely operate lifts, gait belts, SCDs and CO2 monitoring equipment
• Good critical thinking, prioritization and communication skills in fast-paced environments
• Adaptability to float between specialties and learn unit-specific protocols quickly
