Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on the assigned unit
- Assess patient condition, implement nursing interventions, and evaluate outcomes
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to create and follow individualized care plans
- Respond to emergencies and call notifications promptly and effectively
- Document accurately and timely in the electronic medical record
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety protocols, and regulatory standards
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing (state licensure required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred or required depending on unit
- Prior acute care experience preferred (travel nurses often bring 1+ years of recent clinical experience)
- Comfortable working holidays, weekends, and participating in call rotation
- Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and teamwork mindset
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in patient assessment, medication administration, and IV therapy
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) documentation
- Ability to prioritize, triage, and manage multiple patients safely
- Familiarity with infection control practices and safety protocols
- Good critical thinking and clinical decision-making under pressure
- Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration with patients, families, and staff
