Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality perioperative care for cardiovascular surgery patients
• Monitor and assess patient status, including hemodynamics and cardiac function
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists and the perioperative team for safe patient outcomes
• Implement and maintain sterile technique and infection prevention practices
• Educate patients and families about procedures, postoperative care and recovery expectations
• Document patient care accurately and communicate changes promptly to the care team

Qualifications

• Active RN license (ability to hold or obtain Texas RN licensure)
• Minimum 1 year experience in cardiovascular surgery or related perioperative cardiac setting
• Current BLS required; ACLS preferred
• Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced surgical environments and prioritize effectively
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical expertise in cardiovascular surgical care and perioperative nursing
• Proficiency with patient monitoring and interpretation of hemodynamic data
• Skilled in sterile technique, OR protocols and post-anesthesia care
• Comfortable providing patient/family education and compassionate bedside care
• Ability to use electronic medical records and accurate documentation practices
