Location: Bowie, Maryland

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem (days vary), 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM day shift

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $19 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, person-centered care to residents and promote dignity
Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
Take and record vital signs, reporting changes to nursing staff promptly
Support mealtime assistance and document intake as required
Keep accurate resident records and update care team on observed changes
Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control procedures
Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and family members to support care plans
Participate in shift handoffs to ensure continuity of care

Qualifications

GNA certification (required)
Current state-required credentials and registry status for GNA work
Previous experience caring for older adults or in a long-term care setting is a plus
Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
Ability to stand, walk, and assist with patient transfers as needed
Willingness to complete facility-required orientation and trainings

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred; GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

Understanding of activities of daily living (ADLs) support
Basic knowledge of vital sign measurement and documentation
Familiarity with infection control and safety practices
Compassionate interpersonal skills for working with seniors and families
Reliable documentation and time-management habits
Ability to follow care plans and take direction from licensed staff
