Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate occupational therapy services to skilled nursing residents, focused on improving daily living skills
- Assist with evaluations and implement treatment plans developed with the OT team
- Document resident progress clearly and timely to support continuity of care
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and family members to create meaningful goals
- Teach residents and caregivers strategies to increase independence and safety
- Maintain therapy equipment and ensure a safe treatment environment
- Participate in care planning and interdisciplinary team meetings to advocate for residents
Qualifications
- Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential
- Comfortable working in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) setting
- Open to all experience levels — any experience accepted, including New Grads
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for resident and family education
- Ability to meet the requested start date of 2026-02-23
Education
- COTA certification (typically requires an associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant)
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of therapeutic activities and adaptive techniques for older adults
- Skilled in ADL training, transfers, and mobility assistance
- Proficient documentation and clinical reasoning skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary team
- Time management and caseload organization
- Resident-centered care and family education strategies
