Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality telemetry nursing care to neuro-medical patients
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond promptly to changes in telemetry
- Administer and titrate medication drips safely according to orders and protocols
- Perform and assist with EEG monitoring and bubble studies as required
- Operate and troubleshoot Kangaroo pumps and manage enteral therapies
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the Meditech EMR
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to support positive patient outcomes
- Educate patients and families about care plans, medications, and discharge instructions
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) credential with relevant state authorization
- Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience (telemetry or neuro-medical experience preferred)
- BLS certification required
- Familiarity with telemetry monitoring, medication drips, EEG, and Kangaroo pumps
- Experience with Meditech or similar EMR is a strong plus
- Positive, flexible attitude and strong teamwork and communication skills
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
- Safe administration and titration of IV medication drips
- Basic EEG concepts and assisting with neuro diagnostic procedures
- Operation of Kangaroo enteral feeding pumps
- Proficient documentation in Meditech EMR
- Strong patient assessment, clinical judgment, and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively on a busy neuro-medical unit with 1:6 patient ratios
