Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality telemetry nursing care to neuro-medical patients on a 36-bed unit
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and interpret telemetry data to detect and escalate changes in condition
• Administer and titrate medication drips safely and accurately
• Perform and assist with EEGs and bubble studies as needed for patient diagnosis and care
• Document patient care and clinical findings thoroughly in the Meditech EMR
• Operate and troubleshoot Kangaroo infusion pumps and other unit equipment
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient plans
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans with empathy and clarity

Qualifications

• Active RN license (state license or compact RN licensure as applicable)
• Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience (telemetry/medical-surgical or neuro-medical preferred)
• BLS certification required
• Hands-on experience with telemetry monitoring, medication drips, EEGs, and bubble studies
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR and Kangaroo infusion pumps
• Positive, flexible attitude and the ability to engage effectively with patients and staff

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN) and active RN licensure

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and ECG interpretation
• Intravenous medication administration and drip management
• Neurological patient assessment and basic neuro care principles
• Experience with EEG procedures and bubble studies
• Proficiency with Meditech electronic charting
• Operation of Kangaroo pumps and common hospital equipment
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills
