Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert bedside care in a high-acuity ICU, managing ventilated and post-op cardiac patients
• Perform hemodynamic monitoring and titrate therapies in collaboration with intensivists
• Deliver post-CABG and cardiac transplant support, ensuring safe transitions of care
• Respond to emergencies with effective ACLS-guided interventions and clear communication
• Document precise patient care in Meditech and update the team during bedside shift reports
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (respiratory therapy, surgery, PT/OT) to optimize outcomes
• Mentor and support peers while maintaining professional standards and unit policies

Qualifications

• Active Texas RN License required (temporary license will not be accepted)
• Minimum 2+ years of recent ICU / critical care experience
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Comfortable caring for ventilated patients and performing hemodynamic monitoring
• Experience with post-CABG care, CPR proficiency, and exposure to CVICU or cardiac cases preferred
• Meditech experience preferred; ECMO and heart transplant experience is a strong plus
• Professional demeanor: bedside shift report required; teamwork and respectful communication expected

Knowledge & Skills

• Mechanical ventilation management and ventilator weaning strategies
• Advanced hemodynamic monitoring and vasoactive medication titration
• Post-operative cardiac care including post-CABG and transplant support
• Familiarity with Meditech electronic documentation
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment (ECMO exposure helpful)
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and clear communication skills
