Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the Occupational Therapist in implementing individualized treatment plans to help residents regain independence
- Provide therapeutic interventions to improve activities of daily living (ADLs) and functional mobility
- Educate patients and families on exercises, safety strategies, and adaptive techniques to support recovery
- Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary rehab team to coordinate care and maximize outcomes
- Complete accurate and timely documentation to support patient progress and regulatory compliance
Qualifications
- Active California COTA license (required)
- Experience in Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) or rehab settings preferred
- Strong clinical skills with demonstrated ability to support OT interventions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of ADLs, functional mobility, and adaptive equipment
- Patient education and safety instruction
- Accurate clinical documentation and progress note writing
- Interdisciplinary team collaboration
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
