Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of pediatric hospitalists, fostering a collaborative and supportive clinical environment
- Oversee newborn nursery care in partnership with Pediatrix neonatologists and NICU support
- Provide timely pediatric consultations to the Emergency Department, guiding diagnosis and treatment plans
- Participate in and champion Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives and clinical research
- Perform pediatric procedures as required, including circumcisions
- Coordinate care and communicate effectively with neonatology, ED teams, and hospital leadership
- Drive clinical best practices by exchanging ideas with a large network of Pediatrix providers
Qualifications
- Experience required — not open to new graduates (clinical and leadership experience expected)
- Proven experience in pediatric hospitalist medicine and newborn nursery care with NICU collaboration
- Demonstrated ability to provide pediatric consultations in an ED setting
- Comfort with 24/7 on-call responsibilities in a round-and-go model, including call-from-home
- Clinical leadership experience, including supervising or directing a small team of physicians
- Experience performing pediatric procedures such as circumcisions
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of Pediatrics and hospitalist medicine
- Experience with newborn nursery workflows and coordination with neonatology
- Skills in clinical leadership, quality improvement (CQI), and clinical research participation
- Excellent communication and teamwork for multidisciplinary collaboration
- Ability to provide timely ED consultations and make pragmatic clinical decisions
- Familiarity with hospital systems and processes for credentialing and compliance
