Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room by ensuring all surgical instruments and supplies are sterile and ready
• Assist surgeons and the OR team during procedures by passing instruments and anticipating needs
• Maintain strict aseptic technique and infection control throughout surgical cases
• Perform instrument counts and document surgical supplies accurately
• Help with equipment setup, troubleshooting, and safe handling of devices
• Participate in orientation and team huddles to support smooth case flow and patient safety

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or ability to obtain)
• Familiarity with perioperative instrumentation and sterile technique
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills in a fast-paced OR environment
• Prior OR or surgical tech experience preferred but enthusiastic new grads may be considered
• Ability to complete required facility orientation

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program (or equivalent certificate/diploma)
• High school diploma or GED

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of surgical instrumentation, supplies, and sterile processing
• Ability to anticipate surgeon needs and maintain efficient case flow
• Competence in performing accurate counts and documentation
• Familiarity with operating room safety protocols and infection prevention
• Good communication, teamwork, and situational awareness
