Surgical Technologist - Operating Room

Location: Sacramento, CA

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 6:45 AM - 3:15 PM, with weekend call as needed

Candidate Pay Rate: $65.8 - $49 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide expert surgical technology support in Ortho, Neuro, Robotics, and General surgeries
Scrub and circulate independently for a variety of cases, including total joints, robotic procedures, and pediatric dental
Respond to on-call needs within a 30-minute timeframe, rotating with core staff
Float between Mercy General Main OR and Outpatient Surgery to cover both areas
Document patient care accurately using Cerner charting system
Maintain a sterile field and assist the surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes

Qualifications

Current BLS certification required
Proven experience as a Surgical Technologist, proficient in Ortho, Neuro, Robotics, and General service lines
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Willingness to take call and work weekends as needed
Must have valid government-issued ID and provide two supervisor references (one within 12 months, one within 3 years)

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in surgical instrumentation and sterile technique for multiple specialties
Strong understanding of daVinci robotic systems and Cerner EMR
Ability to prioritize and adapt in a fast-paced operating room environment
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Knowledge of call response protocols and floating between OR units
