Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate direct care to students and clinic visitors, helping with activities of daily living as needed
Monitor and record vital signs, symptoms, and behavioral changes accurately
Assist the nursing team with medication administration and treatments under supervision when authorized
Document clinical encounters and communicate findings clearly to nurses and school staff
Support safe, sanitary care by following infection control and safety procedures
Respond calmly and effectively to health emergencies, escalating to licensed clinicians and notifying families when required

Qualifications

Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential in good standing
Current BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain promptly)
Comfortable working with children and adolescents in a school health setting
Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings (TB, immunizations)
Excellent communication skills and a friendly, patient-centered attitude
Prior experience in school health, pediatrics, or community health is a plus

Education

High school diploma or GED
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential

Knowledge & Skills

Basic clinical skills: taking vitals, assisting with mobility, basic wound care support
Infection control practices and safe patient handling
Clear, compassionate communication with students, families, and staff
Accurate charting and basic familiarity with electronic health records or paper charts
Ability to follow care plans and escalate concerns appropriately
