Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor critically ill patients, interpreting vital signs and trends to guide care
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and evidence-based interventions safely and accurately
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and update individualized care plans
• Respond to emergencies and rapid changes in patient condition with calm, decisive action
• Provide education and emotional support to patients and families during high-stress times
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses clearly and timely in the medical record
• Advocate for patient safety and quality improvement in daily practice

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California or compact RN with CA eligibility
• Minimum clinical experience in critical care/ICU preferred
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) strongly preferred or required by facility
• Strong critical thinking, prioritization, and communication skills
• Willingness to work per diem schedule and adapt to varying shift needs

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in critical care monitoring, ventilator management, and hemodynamic support
• Proficient with medication administration, IV pumps, and central line care
• Skilled at rapid assessment, triage, and escalation of care
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and clear clinical documentation
• Strong teamwork, time management, and patient advocacy skills
