Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry continuously to detect and escalate arrhythmias and other changes
• Perform focused patient assessments and intervene promptly to maintain patient safety
• Administer medications, including IV therapies, and document care accurately
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate timely, patient-centered care
• Provide compassionate education and support to patients and families about diagnoses and care plans
• Respond to emergencies and participate in rapid response and code team activities as needed

Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or a compact RN license accepted per state rules
• Current BLS required; ACLS strongly preferred
• Experience or strong familiarity with telemetry monitoring; comfort interpreting ECG strips
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple high-acuity patients overnight
• Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass background and health screenings

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; ADN required, BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proven telemetry monitoring and ECG interpretation skills
• Strong patient assessment and clinical decision-making abilities
• IV medication administration and safe medication practices
• Effective oral and written communication with patients and the care team
• Proficiency with electronic medical record systems and accurate documentation
• Ability to work independently during overnight shifts while collaborating with the team
