Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional, evidence-based nursing care to neonatal patients (22 weeks and up) in a Level 2 NICU environment
• Manage ventilated and high-acuity infants including oscillator support under established protocols
• Perform neonatal resuscitation and participate as runner for high-risk deliveries and C-sections
• Collaborate with neonatologists, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and execute individualized care plans
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in Cerner and communicate changes in condition to providers
• Adhere to assigned nurse-to-patient ratios (1:1, 1:2, or 1:3) and escalate concerns promptly
• Participate in unit rapid response events and assist in system-level patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Active RN license eligible for California or compact RN license as applicable
• Current BLS (AHA) and NRP required; STABLE certification preferred
• Minimum 3 years of nursing experience, with NICU or neonatal critical care experience strongly preferred
• Ability to work night shifts, every other weekend, and 2 out of 3 holidays as scheduled
• Comfortable with ventilator management, oscillators, and complex neonatal equipment
• Reliable, professional, and able to respond within 30 minutes if on-call due to census changes

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Nursing Diploma required; BSN preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Neonatal resuscitation and stabilization skills
• Experience with ventilator/oscillator care and device monitoring
• Familiarity with Cerner charting and GE telemetry systems
• Strong clinical assessment, IV management, and medication administration skills
• Excellent communication with families and multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to prioritize in fast-paced, high-acuity settings and work autonomously when needed
