Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care for a high-acuity patient population in a 27-bed ED
• Rapidly assess, triage, and stabilize patients presenting with life-threatening conditions
• Lead and participate in resuscitations and rapid sequence intubation (RSI) when indicated
• Implement sepsis interventions and timely stroke protocol/tPA workflows
• Perform and assist with procedures such as central line placement and other critical interventions
• Coordinate safe inter-facility transfers (EMTALA) and communicate effectively with receiving teams
• Document care accurately in Meditech and communicate clearly with patients, families, and the multi-disciplinary team
• Support a team-oriented, respectful unit culture and contribute to safe patient ratios in high-volume settings

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) — required (RN ER specialty experience preferred)
• Minimum 2-3 years of emergency department experience
• Must have completed 2-3 prior travel assignments
• BLS, ACLS, PALS required
• TNCC preferred; ENPC, NRP, NIH are nice-to-have certifications
• Experience working in high-acuity, fast-paced EDs and comfort with 4-6:1 patient ratios
• Proficiency with Meditech or similar EMR systems

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in emergency nursing workflows: triage, rapid assessment, and high-acuity care
• Experience with RSI, sepsis bundle implementation, and stroke/tPA protocols
• Competent in central line care and assisting with invasive procedures
• Comfort managing psychiatric patients and complex EMTALA transfers
• Ability to prioritize under pressure and work effectively on a night shift team
• Familiarity with Meditech documentation and electronic charting best practices
• Strong communication, teamwork, and patient/family education skills
