Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage ventilator therapy and perform advanced ventilator adjustments using equipment such as 3100A, Bunnell, and Servo ventilators
• Provide specialized NICU/PICU respiratory care using high flow devices, Nitric Oxide, Heliox, and continuous nebulizers
• Deliver evidence-based respiratory treatments and monitor patient response closely
• Document assessments, treatments, and changes in patient condition accurately in Meditech
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary team members to develop and execute individualized care plans
• Participate in patient transport, emergency response, and bedside procedures as needed
• Educate families and caregivers about respiratory care plans and equipment use
• Maintain unit safety and infection control standards while adapting to a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
• Current BLS, NRP, and PALS certifications (must have)
• Minimum 2 years of current acute care hospital RRT experience
• Current NICU/PICU experience preferred for this unit
• Meditech experience preferred by site leadership
• Team player with strong critical thinking and adaptability in fast-paced care settings

Knowledge & Skills

• Advanced ventilator management and troubleshooting
• Experience with high flow devices, Nitric Oxide, Heliox, and continuous nebulizers
• Neonatal and pediatric respiratory care principles for NICU/PICU patients
• Proficient documentation skills in Meditech or similar electronic health record systems
• Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
• Ability to prioritize patient-centered care in a tertiary care and teaching environment
