Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide excellent telemetry nursing care to patients on a 36-bed medical unit, monitoring cardiac rhythms and responding to changes
• Use Cerner and Cerner Patient Observation tools to document care accurately and communicate patient status
• Interpret telemetry data and escalate concerns promptly to the care team to improve patient outcomes
• Prepare patients for procedures such as Endoscopy, IR, and OR, and coordinate safe handoffs
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including charge nurses and support staff to maintain safe staffing ratios
• Deliver compassionate bedside care while supporting a fast paced unit environment and mentoring colleagues when appropriate
• Follow unit policies and participate in maintaining a culture focused on patient safety and HCA mission-driven care

Qualifications

• Active RN license (eligible to practice in NC; compact license accepted if applicable)
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience, with telemetry or med-surg experience preferred
• BLS certification required
• Proven experience with medical telemetry monitoring and Cerner EMR
• CMSRN certification encouraged
• BSN preferred
• Leadership or charge nurse experience is a plus
• Willingness to work overnight shifts and commit to the weekend sign-up requirement

Education

• BSN preferred; equivalent nursing degree considered

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm recognition skills
• Proficient with Cerner EMR and Cerner Patient Observation (CPO)
• Familiarity with VC150 patient communication devices and workstation-on-wheels workflows
• Excellent clinical documentation and time management
• Ability to triage, prioritize, and collaborate under fast paced conditions
• Comfort with floating to sister med-surge units as needed
