Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem / Variable days, 6:00 PM - 6:30 AM NOC (overnight)

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $43 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care for residents at Cedar Ridge Ctr
Perform thorough assessments and document findings clearly in the medical record
Administer medications and treatments safely and according to policy
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and update care plans
Respond to changes in patient condition promptly and escalate concerns as needed
Support residents and families with education, empathy, and clear communication
Maintain accurate charts, shift reports, and handoffs to ensure continuity of care

Qualifications

Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Maine license or compact where applicable)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS or PALS a plus
Comfortable working 12+ hour overnight shifts and adapting to variable per diem schedules
Experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or med-surg settings is preferred
Strong assessment, critical thinking, and documentation skills

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Clinical assessment and care planning for adult and geriatric populations
Medication administration, IV therapy basics, and wound care
Electronic medical record (EMR) charting and accurate documentation
Strong communication and handoff skills for interdisciplinary teamwork
Time management, prioritization, and ability to work independently on nights
