Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality PICC-related care and management for patients with central lines
• Perform thorough patient assessments and monitor for complications related to IV therapy
• Maintain meticulous documentation of line care, assessments, and treatments
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, coordinated patient care
• Adhere to infection control standards and best practices for vascular access
• Follow strict security and facility policies while working inside a correctional setting
• Educate patients and staff on PICC line care and device-related safety as appropriate

Qualifications

• Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Pennsylvania
• PICC competency or certification, or demonstrable experience with PICC insertion/maintenance
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS preferred where applicable
• Willingness and ability to work overnight shifts (11:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Ability to pass required background checks and comply with secure facility policies (no cell phones inside secure perimeter)
• Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm in constrained or high-security environments

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in IV therapy, PICC line care, dressing changes, and line troubleshooting
• Solid infection prevention and aseptic technique knowledge
• Accurate clinical documentation and charting practices
• Patient assessment and early recognition of complications
• Ability to work safely within a correctional facility and follow security protocols
• Team collaboration and clear communication with clinical and security staff
