Location: Omaha, Nebraska

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 12-hour night shifts, 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM, with rotating weekends (6 weekend shifts per 6-week period) and holidays

Hours per Week: 48

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with a mix of medical, surgical, cardiac, and stroke conditions in a fast-paced PCU.
Titrate IV drips such as Heparin, insulin, and octreotide, and monitor patient responses.
Manage frequent admissions, transfers, and discharges while maintaining high-quality care.
Collaborate with charge nurses, patient care techs, and unit secretaries to ensure smooth unit operations.
Interpret telemetry and respond promptly to changes in patient condition.
Utilize EPIC charting system to document and communicate patient information effectively.

Qualifications

Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
Minimum 2 years of PCU or stepdown experience
Ability to pass an open-book exam during orientation (90% required)
Driver's license required for radius rule verification

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in EPIC charting system
Strong ability to read and interpret telemetry
Skilled in managing titratable IV drips
Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
