Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive pre- and post-procedure care for cardiac patients in a fast-paced PACU setting
• Monitor patients recovering from conscious sedation and general anesthesia following cardiac catheterization and other interventions
• Assess vital signs, manage pain, and identify early signs of complications
• Collaborate with cardiologists, anesthesiologists, and the care team to ensure safe, high-quality patient outcomes
• Perform central line dressing changes and Foley catheter insertions with strict sterile technique
• Educate patients and families on post-procedure care and discharge instructions

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent PACU experience required
• ICU experience strongly preferred
• Level 1 trauma experience a must
• Active RN license in Arizona or compact state
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Must pass dysrhythmia exam prior to start (2 attempts allowed)
• Ability to maintain sterile field during procedures
• Comfortable with Cerner EMR and Phillips telemetry

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in cardiac pre- and post-procedure care
• Proficient in conscious sedation and general anesthesia recovery
• Strong telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretation skills
• Skilled in central line dressing changes and Foley catheter insertion
• Knowledge of sterile technique and SIMs lab competencies
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
