Registered Nurse - Neuro Acute Epilepsy Monitoring
Location: Phoenix, AZ
Start Date: 08-03-2026
End Date: 11-02-2026
Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Night shift, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts; 3 weekend shifts per 4 weeks (self-scheduling); holiday rotation
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care to neuro acute and epilepsy monitoring patients
- Monitor 24-48 hour trend EEGs for seizure activity and neurologic status
- Assess and detect subtle changes in patient condition, performing critical interventions
- Perform Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes using sterile technique
- Collaborate with hospitalists, neurologists, and interdisciplinary team
- Educate patients and families on epilepsy management and discharge planning
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of MedSurg/Tele RN experience
- Must have Level 1 Trauma experience
- Current BLS and ACLS (AHA) certifications
- Must pass dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance
- BSN preferred; Certified in Med Surg/Tele preferred
- Must demonstrate competency in Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
- Strong critical thinking and assessment skills
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in telemetry monitoring and arrhythmia recognition
- Experience with epilepsy, neuro acute, and MS/Tele patients
- Competent in sterile technique for invasive procedures
- Knowledge of Cerner charting system
- Ability to float to MS/Tele units as needed
