Location: Carbondale, Illinois

Start Date: 07-27-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Every other weekend, 1:30 PM - 10:00 PM

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $53 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Perform complex lab procedures and ensure accurate specimen processing across all departments
Evaluate and solve problems related to specimen collection and processing for all age ranges
Analyze quality control data and take corrective actions to maintain precision and accuracy
Support and communicate lab initiatives and philosophies
Participate in evaluating new techniques and procedures
Maintain competency through ongoing education and training

Qualifications

2+ years of clinical laboratory experience required
CLS or MT (ASCP) certification required (or equivalent)
New graduates must pass certification exam within 6 months of start date
Strong blood bank experience is a must
Active Illinois state license or compact eligible

Education

Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field (Associate's degree accepted for grandfathered personnel)

Knowledge & Skills

Blood Bank procedures and protocols
Clinical laboratory techniques including specimen processing and quality control
Ability to recognize deviation from expected results and problem-solve
Proficiency with laboratory information systems and EMR (Point Click)
