Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on the orthopedic unit
• Perform dressing changes and suture/staple removal with attention to infection prevention
• Manage Foley catheters, NG tubes, and wound vac maintenance safely and effectively
• Document care accurately in Cerner and communicate changes to the care team
• Support safe patient mobility using lift equipment and assistive devices
• Champion teamwork on shifts and help maintain appropriate patient ratios
• Adapt to a fast-paced environment while providing care that treats patients like family

Qualifications

• Current NC RN license (required)
• BLS certification (required)
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience (as listed)
• Experience in orthopedic or Med-Surg nursing preferred
• Comfortable using Cerner electronic medical records
• Team player with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced setting

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical skills in wound care, catheter management, and post-op orthopedic care
• Familiarity with assistive devices: walkers, bedside commodes, lifts, CPM
• Ability to accurately document and navigate Cerner EMR
• Strong patient assessment, prioritization, and communication skills
• Ability to work nights and cover every other weekend as part of the schedule
