Registered Nurse - Neuro Stepdown
Location: Marrero, LA
Start Date: 04-09-2026
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: 12.5-hour shifts (specific start/end times and days not specified; Neuro Stepdown/SDU)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care for Neuro Stepdown (SDU) patients
- Monitor and interpret neuro assessments and telemetry to detect changes in condition
- Administer medications and IV therapies safely and according to policy
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
- Document patient care accurately and timely in the medical record
- Participate in unit-based performance improvement and safety initiatives
Qualifications
- Active RN license (required)
- Experience or interest in Neuro Stepdown / SDU care (preferred)
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; ACLS preferred or obtainable
- Comfort with telemetry monitoring and neuro-focused assessments
- Ability to work 12.5-hour clinical shifts and function effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset

- IV therapy and medication administration best practices
- Critical thinking and rapid recognition of patient deterioration
- Clear clinical documentation and handoff communication
