Registered Nurse - Neuro Stepdown
Location: Marrero, LA
Start Date: 04-04-2026
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: 12.5-hour shifts (exact start/end times and days not specified; schedule to be confirmed with facility scheduler). Neuro Stepdown (SDU) assignment.
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to patients in the Neuro Stepdown unit
- Perform continuous patient assessment and monitor telemetry and neurologic status
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely and accurately
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and update patient care plans
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, plan of care, and discharge needs
- Document patient care thoroughly and in a timely manner to maintain continuity and safety
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or eligible for licensure
- Experience in neuro stepdown, telemetry, or progressive care preferred
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and patient monitoring skills
- Ability to pass required background check and health screenings
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in neurologic assessment and monitoring of patients
- Experience with telemetry and interpreting cardiac rhythms
- Skilled in IV medication administration and infusion management
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient education abilities
- Accurate and timely clinical documentation
