Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans for MedSurg patients
• Deliver high-quality nursing care for a diverse patient population from pediatrics to geriatrics
• Monitor patients using telemonitoring systems and collaborate with unit techs to ensure safety
• Manage post-operative ortho patients and common medical diagnoses such as pneumonia and ACS
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the Cerner EMR
• Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, including RT, pharmacy, and hospitalists
• Support safe patient ratios (typically 3-4, up to 5) and assist with admissions, discharges, and handoffs

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse licensure (RN)
• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• MedSurg nursing experience and comfort caring for patients across the lifespan (pediatric to geriatric)
• Comfort working 12-hour shifts including nights, weekends, and holiday rotations
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR and telemonitoring systems is a strong plus

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient assessment and care planning skills
• MedSurg nursing fundamentals and post-operative ortho care
• Telemetry/telemonitoring competency
• Ability to prioritize in higher-ratio settings (3-4, up to 5)
• Clear verbal and written communication with interdisciplinary teams
• Efficient documentation and time management on 12-hour shifts
