Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate, evidence-based nursing care on the Med/Surg unit
- Assess patients, develop and implement care plans, and evaluate outcomes
- Administer medications and treatments safely and document accurately
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate excellent patient care
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and discharge plans
- Maintain a safe environment by following infection control and safety protocols
- Precept and support new staff during orientation to build a confident team
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) credential — ability to practice in New Hampshire or applicable compact licensure
- Med/Surg experience (prior Med/Surg unit experience preferred)
- BLS certification (and ACLS/other certifications as required by facility)
- Ability to work 12.5-hour shifts and participate in orientation
- Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and a team-first attitude
Education
- Diploma, Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid Med/Surg clinical assessment and patient monitoring skills
- Medication administration and IV/infusion competency
- Clear, kind communication with patients, families, and the care team
- Time management and prioritization in a fast-paced inpatient setting
- Electronic health record documentation experience desirable
