Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered med/surg nursing care for pediatric patients
• Perform thorough assessments, monitor patient status, and intervene appropriately
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document accurately
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and update care plans
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and discharge planning
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and communicate changes to providers
• Participate in quality improvement and safety initiatives to enhance patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri (or compact RN as applicable)
• Med/Surg and pediatric nursing experience preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) highly desirable
• Demonstrated clinical judgment, strong communication, and teamwork skills
• Current certifications and clear background/health requirements as required by facility

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Completion of accredited nursing program and current RN licensure

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong med/surg nursing knowledge with pediatric focus
• Skilled in patient assessment, vital sign trends, and early warning recognition
• Competent with medication administration, IV therapy, and pediatric dosing considerations
• Excellent communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Familiarity with standard clinical documentation and care planning practices
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and remain calm under pressure
