Registered Nurse - Med/Surg (Pediatrics)
Location: St. Louis, MO

Contract Type: Per-Diem
Candidate Pay Rate: $52 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on Med/Surg units with pediatric focus
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing interventions to promote patient recovery
- Monitor and document patient status, changes, and responses to treatments accurately
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate safe, effective care plans
- Administer medications and IV therapies safely, following facility policies
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans to support positive outcomes
- Participate in orientation and precepting to help onboard new team members
Qualifications
- Current RN licensure in Missouri or Compact RN license eligible
- Active BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; PALS or pediatric certifications preferred
- Experience or strong interest in Med/Surg nursing with pediatric patient exposure
- Comfortable working in fast-paced clinical settings with strong assessment skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills; dependable and patient-focused
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid Med/Surg nursing knowledge with pediatric care considerations
- Clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Medication administration and IV therapy competency
- Patient and family education techniques
- Ability to document clearly and accurately in clinical records
- Team collaboration and time management in a busy unit
