Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered Med/Surg nursing care with attention to safety and quality
• Assess patient condition, develop individualized care plans, and implement appropriate interventions
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and document thoroughly
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and improve outcomes
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge planning
• Monitor patient progress, respond to changes, and escalate concerns in a timely manner
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with facility policies and regulatory standards

Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Louisiana or eligible for Louisiana licensure
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; additional certifications encouraged
• Clinical experience in Medical-Surgical nursing preferred
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills with attention to detail
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts and adapt to unit staffing needs

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of Med/Surg nursing practices and standards of care
• Medication administration and IV therapy competence
• Patient assessment, wound care, and post-operative care skills
• Proficient clinical documentation and time management
• Ability to triage, prioritize, and respond effectively to changing patient needs
• Comfort working in a fast-paced hospital environment and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams
