Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patient conditions, recognizing changes and escalating concerns promptly
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately according to orders
• Coordinate and deliver compassionate, patient-centered care on the Med/Surg unit
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses clearly in the health record
• Educate patients and families on care plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes and transitions of care
• Respond effectively to emergent situations and contribute to a culture of safety and quality

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Louisiana or eligibility to obtain licensure prior to start
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred or available through employer
• Clinical experience or training in Med/Surg nursing is highly desirable
• Strong clinical judgment, effective communication skills, and teamwork mindset
• Ability to meet required immunizations and background checks per facility policy

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of Med/Surg patient assessment and care planning
• Competence with medication administration and IV therapy
• Proficiency with electronic health record documentation
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients safely
• Patient and family education skills with an emphasis on compassionate care
