Registered Nurse - Med/Surg
Location: Marrero, LA
Start Date: 04-09-2026
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: 12.5-hour Med/Surg shifts; exact start/end times and scheduled days to be confirmed (shift type: Med/Surg, 12.5 hours per shift)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to Med/Surg patients
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Monitor patient status, recognize changes, and intervene appropriately
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate discharge planning and continuity of care
- Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and self-care
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license valid for practice in Louisiana
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS/PALS as applicable or preferred
- Clinical experience or comfort working on a Med/Surg unit
- Strong clinical judgment, organization, and patient advocacy skills
- Ability to work 12.5-hour shifts and adapt to unit staffing needs
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid patient assessment and bedside care skills
- Medication administration and IV therapy familiarity
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
- Critical thinking and prioritization in a fast-paced environment
- Clear communication and teamwork with interdisciplinary staff
