Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: Rotating 12.5-hour shifts (specific start/end times and weekly schedule to be provided by facility)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care for Med/Surg patients
- Perform accurate assessments and respond promptly to changes in condition
- Administer medications and treatments safely and document thoroughly
- Coordinate care with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
- Maintain meticulous charting and uphold unit standards for quality and safety
- Support unit flow by prioritizing tasks and collaborating with nursing staff
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana (or compact RN as applicable)
- BLS certification required; ACLS and other certifications encouraged or preferred
- Hands-on Med/Surg nursing experience preferred
- Demonstrated excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to safely manage multiple patients and prioritize in a fast-paced setting
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Proficiency with medication administration and IV therapy
- Solid documentation skills in electronic health records (EHR)
- Effective patient/family education and discharge planning
- Ability to collaborate across disciplines and escalate concerns appropriately
